Hi, my name is Lou Duquette and together with my wife Gabby Duquette and son Seth Duquette, we run BC Bottoms Farm and Custom Cuts. We are pleased to offer the best of locally raised, small batch pork and beef along with custom slaughter services.
Gabby and I met in sixth grade and have been best friends since day one. We started dating our sophomore year in high school and were married in 2008. Through our middle school and high school years, we always enjoyed deep sea fishing and processing our catch for supper and later use. I am and always have been an avid hunter and Gabby would always help with the processing of deer throughout the years. Most nights we would eat either fish we caught, deer we hunted or rabbit and chicken we raised.
Throughout the years we dreamed of moving to Tennessee to live a simpler, healthier life where we could own a farm and raise food for our family. In 2014 that dream came true and we immediately rented a house with six acres and within three months had chickens, turkeys and rabbits. We were also harvesting and processing our own deer. After friends would eat deer we processed, it didn’t take long for them to bring deer they harvested for us to process.
In 2015 we bought our first property, a fifteen-and-a-half-acre farm. Once again immediately after we moved and before we were prepared, we had our first cow and pig. We are now providing 100% of our own meat!
Every year moving forward, I couldn’t wait for slaughter time. I love cutting meat and packaging meat. I take great pride in turning a heavy carcass into portion size and neatly packaged meat. I love it, and every time a friend asks to bring a deer, I tell them to bring it ASAP!
It’s with this passion that Gabby and I started BC Bottoms Farm and Custom Cuts. We figured why not take something we love and do it on a larger scale so we can share our products and services with others. Breaking down a whole pig or a side of beef for someone to eat brings such joy to my life and it’s a passion I can now share with others and this is the reason we like to say “life in livestock”.
Sincerely
Lou Duquette
